Meeting our Mission
The eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) form a blueprint agreed to by all the world's countries and all the world's leading development institutions. They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the world's poorest people.
The Millennium Goals are:
- Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
- Achieve universal primary education
- Promote gender equality and empower women
- Reduce child mortality
- Improve maternal health
- Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
- Ensure environmental sustainability
- Develop a global partnership for development
CFCA is committed to combat HIV/AIDS, goal number 6, by providing care for HIV+ children, their HIV+ guardians and HIV+ pregnant women. We do this:
- By providing donated, new medical supplies
- By providing donated, good quality medial equipment
- By partnering with reliable, community based programs
- By monitoring and evaluating how donations are used
- By finding an additional 10,000 Canadians who become involved through contributions
- By finding Canadians who want to become long-term child sponsors
- By finding more supply donors
- By assisting access to care through support of Mulago Hospital, Mikindani Community Based Project, St. Mary's Hospitals, St. Joseph's Home of Hope, St. Theresa's Orphanage, and ZOE
By establishing new, sustained resource streams to assist existing programs .
